Dr. Prather is a life-long resident of Marshall County, having grown up in the Brewers area. Near the end of middle school and all through his high school years at Marshall County, he enjoyed running both track and cross country with an emphasis on cross country. He still enjoys running today and competes in various 5K races in the area.
Dr. Prather completed his undergrad education at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee and was awarded the Hendricks scholarship which granted him full tuition, room and board for four years. Dr. Prather thoroughly enjoyed his time at Bethel and continued to pursue running in both track and cross country. Dr. Prather graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and was named a Hutchen's scholar which is awarded to the graduating senior with the highest GPA.
After graduating from Bethel, Dr. Prather took a year off. During that time, he worked with Dr. Sells in the office as an assistant. Dr. Prather has been mentored by Dr. Sells and has worked closely with the entire Sells family for around 10 years.
Also during his time off from school, Dr. Prather was married to his high school sweetheart, Angelica. Angelica attended Graves County High School and he met her at the church that they have both attended for their entire lives, Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield, Kentucky. Dr. Prather and Angelica are expecting their first child, a girl, in March of 2015. They also have 2 cats, Gomez and Godiva.
In the summer, after working for Dr. Sells for a year, Dr. Prather attended dental school at the University of Louisville. After graduating, he moved back to Benton and is excited to be back in Marshall County after having been gone from the area for several years due to schooling. He is looking forward to the future he has here and the opportunity to serve the area he loves.
